Real Estate Agent, Environmentalist, Educator
These three words say a lot about me.
I am an environmentally focused real estate agent. The road to becoming such was an interesting one for me. I studied electrical engineering and music before becoming an instrumental music instructor. As time went by, I became more diversified and taught chemistry, biology, and eventually, environmental sciences to high school students.
Teaching environmental sciences opened up a new world for me. I immersed myself in seeking out what was happening in the world around me. I read and was inspired by many books such as: Cradle to Cradle by William McDonough, Omnivore’s Dilemma by Michael Pollan, Crimes Against Nature by Robert F. Kennedy and many more. I sought out documentaries about environmental issues, and had lively discussions with others who were concerned about the world in which we live. I shared with my students how we had taken the Earth’s resources for granted, how we had over harvested our forests and oceans, polluted our air, soil, and water, depleted our fossil fuel resources, brought about global warming, and so on. Often a student would ask, “Why do we do things this way, if it causes so many problems?” Great question, isn’t it? This opened the door to examining the many solutions to the problems we face.
As a real estate agent, I also focus on solutions. Buying or selling a home is a multi-faceted process. I help you find solutions so that you get what you want at the best value through patience, education, research, negotiation, and a dedication to serving your best interests. In addition, I can educate you about the environmental issues that involve your home, and I can suggest ways of how to save money add value to your home, and mitigate your impact on the environment by the choices you make concerning your home.
As a 14-year resident of San Francisco and a second-time homeowner, I understand the excitement and stresses associated with buying or selling your home. I understand how to make your home more environmentally friendly. Your home is your most important investment, and your most important environment. I can help you with both. And, my services do not end when the transaction is over. As I see it, that is just the beginning of a mutually beneficial relationship for many years to come.
With Warm Regards,
Shawn

Testimonial from Bill & Steve
“We both also want to express our appreciation for your diligent efforts at selling our condo above asking price and for helping us find a house so suitable to our needs. You have even continued to be involved after both sales were complete. Our sincere thanks are very much in order. Such concerted efforts on your part will certainly result in a loyal following.”
